Apple chips

Hi again dear you,

I’m so glad that you’ve found your way here. Pretty soon you will be as excited as I am because I am gonna share a secret that really isn’t a secret at all.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, right?

But sadly one can’t really say the same about a bag of potato chips (preferably sea salted please). So here comes the secret… You can make chips from apples! And it is super easy. They are also an super easy snack to take with you.

But I ain’t gonna lie, though these are really good they still aren’t potato chips. That said, I hope that won’t keep you from trying these. I just finished a plate myself and I feel pretty happy.

Apple Chips

1 kg of apples

2 tablespoons of citron juice

2 dl of water

A few teaspoons of cinnamon

First rinse the apples and remove the cores. Then in a bowl blend the citrus juice and water.

Cut apples in thins slices and put the slices into the water bowl immediately so they won’t darken. Take the slices of from water and dry most of the water of with a kitchen towel.

Then place the slices on an owen wire tray and sprinkle some cinnamon on top. Bake them in 50 Celsius or 122 Fahrenheit for a few hours. (It took me two). If you leave the owen open just a tiny bit, chips will dry faster.

You know they are ready when they are damp/almost dry. If you bake them too long they will become dry and hard.
